Calling all queer youth - you're invited to QUEERVERSITY!
Sydney's Queer Peer Project (supported by ACON and Twenty10) is
hosting a splendiferous event for GLBTQ youth and their supporters.
That's right - we want you to bring your friends, brothers, sisters,
lovers. Or your parents, cousins, comrades, co-workers --> basically
anyone who may not identify as queer but is definitely queer
friendly.
The event will begin with a panel including a speaker from the trans
community, a fellow who was arrested in the first Mardi Gras, a young
activist fighting for your rights and a queer performer. After that
we have workshops running on HIV/AIDS, cultural diversity and
performance.
Then the night goes out with an explosion of performances to feed
your soul and expand your mind - featuring drag, burlesque, music,
spoken word, poetry and anything else your dirty mind can dream up.
So stop sitting on your laurels and come celebrate the diversity of
our community in a day jam-packed with fun and frivolity.
