Meeting started at 6.30pm

 

Money / rent / debt

  • K is still owed $350. So she is taking all the donations until paid back, but is still making payments to make
  • M paid $40 to bank account, so rent should be OK this week
  • Missing donations tin - was finally found, but only with coins in it. Though Nat may still have the donations from it.
  • BR will probably want bill $ at the joint spaces meeting
  • Really need people to restart making regular payments to us / to bank account

 

Bank

  • New Signatories: Limit to 3 - Grace, Hexy, Kate, Meela. Though Meela happy not to be on it.
  • Need to get signatures from old signatories - there are 5 so it is taking take a while.

email

  • Meela - need to talk to axxs.org re email latency probs
  • Set up a riseup / or yahoo.
  • Yahoo more widely known / used / reliable

 

New people / ads / involvement

  • Yay for 2 new interested people - Sass and Tasha
  • Grace thinks we should do a big promo campaign with badges (which she can make if people come up with witty slogans)!
  • What can we learn from the Oxford St "Safe Space"? Can we cross-pollinate? Sass can talk to them, she knows the person running it.
  • Colour posters? New posters? Meela can print colour @ work.
  • Have another go at the gay press... LOTL runs community services classified ads which might be good to advertise Life drawing, Icarus etc

 

Events

  • Hexy wants to ddo a queer reader project with Peter. They're on track for fortnightly, starting early Jan.
  • Icarus Project still going, needing some boost. Thinking of doing a launch for "Guide to giving up Psych meds" as a NewQ fundraiser
  • Hexy is organising workshops at NewQ as part of the "Yes Fest" (involved with Rape Crisis Centre?). Need ideas for workshops... Radical Poly (Meela)?, Consent / Ethical Sex (Sass)?
  • Tap workshop this friday
  • Cunt quilt sewing bee on Sat 15th - make squares for the cunt quilt (Meela)
  • Stitch and Bitch Tuesday 18th (Kate)

 

Regular meeting time

  • What regular time can people make? We made a list and came up with Wednesday after Icarus at 8pm, alternate weeks.
  • Also thought about the idea of mapping out the next 3 months of meetings (on various weekdays) so that people can plan ahead, and also so that we can plan in rotating weekdays to allow people who can never make wednesday (say) to come.

 

Joint spaces meeting

  • Next one is 13th December 2007
  • Bills $ willl come up. Get a figure.
  • Need at least 2 people to go
  • Kate doesn't want to go!!
  • Kate to write a list of requirements to give to event holders - e.g. "don't leave a mess, clean up food" etc
